美國東北大學戰略管理學教授吉里歐(Joseph M. Giglio)近日警告,美國人可能很快將
從資產泡沫中吸取教訓,通膨走升的威脅,恐刺破股市、房地產、加密貨幣等任何類型的
資產泡沫。
吉里歐近日在美媒《Patriot Ledger》撰文指出,歷史上發生過數次著名的資產泡沫,譬
如1630年代的荷蘭鬱金香泡沫,1720年代的南海泡沫、密西西比泡沫,1920年代的美股飆
升,1990年代末期的網路泡沫,以及2000年中期的美國房地產泡沫。
吉里歐指出,如今在房地產、加密貨幣、股市等個別市場上也可能存在資產泡沫,受益於
低利率環境,去年美國房價上漲了10%以上;比特幣等加密貨幣的飆漲,吸引了許多投資
人關注;美股現在則掀起難以置信的特殊目的收購公司(SPAC)熱潮。
吉里歐表示,儘管面臨公共衛生和經濟危機,美股卻在去年創下歷史新高,在去年3月因
疫情而觸底後一路上揚,去年標普500指數漲幅達68%,道瓊工業指數漲幅達7.25%,那斯
達克指數漲幅達43.6%。
吉里歐指出,觸發資產泡沫的其中1個典型條件,就是寬鬆信貸刺激了投機浪潮,使借貸
方受益,而如今美國聯準會(Fed)主席鮑爾(Jerome Powell)仍持續貨幣和信貸的大規
模擴張,美國人只能指望這些政策不是在耍猴戲。
鮑爾最近表態,除非美國失業率達到3.5%、平均通膨率超過2%,否則聯準會不會調升利率
。但吉里歐指出,美國10年期公債殖利率上升,表明投資人預期通膨走升,債券市場顯然
擔心,通膨將削弱購買力,迫使聯準會升息,進而可能刺破一些資產泡沫。
不過吉里歐也提及值得樂觀的一面,指疫苗接種速度的加速,為今年下半年美國經濟的快
速復甦創造了條件,期望通膨能夠得到控制。
