2.原文內容：美國聯準會主席鮑爾（Jerome Powell）指出，美國經濟「好到令人難以置信」，失業率與通膨率雙低的罕見現象，讓經濟前景一片光明，擴張榮景可望延續。但他也警告，一旦經濟走下坡，川普政府減稅加擴大財政支出的政策，恐讓抵禦能力打折扣。
鮑爾周二在全國企業經濟協會（NABE）年會發表演說，對美國經濟展望仍保持樂觀期待。他表示，美國失業率在3.9％的低點，通膨率盤旋在聯準會（Fed）設立的2％理想目標附近。而就歷史經驗來看，低失業率常會推升通膨，有時逼得Fed不得不加速升息。
鮑爾進一步解釋說：「雖說這兩項指標未必如實勾勒整體經濟現況，但大批就業與通膨相關數據佐證此正面看法。此外不少預測顯示，這些有利經濟的情勢可望持續下去。」
他提到上周聯邦公開市場委員會（FOMC）政策會議結束後，有記者問他，當前的經濟情勢是否「好到令人難以置信」，他稱這是「合理的懷疑」，但眾多指標反映出，美國經濟展望確實明顯朝正向發展。
