The EU warned it could restrict exports of vaccines made in the bloc, with Ger
many's health minister demanding "fair distribution".
The UK's vaccine minister warned of "the dead end of vaccine nationalism".
AstraZeneca is mainly produced in the UK, while the UK's supplies of the Pfize
r-BioNTech vaccine come from the company's Belgian plant.
歐盟警告它將對歐盟區內生產的疫苗限制出口，而德國衛生部長則要求「公平分配」。英

Vaccine supply has become a critical issue as nations seek to stem high infect
ion rates.
Separately, the German health ministry joined AstraZeneca in strongly denying
some reports in German media of a lower efficacy rate for its vaccine among ol
der people.

Last week, AstraZeneca told the EU it was falling behind on its supply target
because of production problems and Pfizer-BioNTech has also said supplies of i
ts vaccine will be lower.
In response, EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides has now said companies m
aking Covid vaccines in the bloc will have to "provide early notification when
ever they want to export vaccines to third countries".

She said the 27-member EU bloc would "take any action required to protect its
citizens".
German Health Minister Jens Spahn backed her call, saying: "This is not about
EU first, this is about Europe's fair share."
Chancellor Angela Merkel told the virtual version of the annual World Economic
Forum, usually held in Davos, there should be a "fair distribution" across th
e world.
European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen earlier told forum: "Europe inv
ested billions to help develop the world's first Covid-19 vaccines. And now, t
he companies must deliver. They must honour their obligations."
歐盟健康專員表示，歐盟27國將會「採取任何必要行動以保護其27國公民。」德國衛生部

The row could affect supplies to the UK of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.
Responding to the EU's comments, the UK's Minister for Covid Vaccine Deploymen
t Nadhim Zahawi said on Tuesday that supplies were "tight" and warned against
what he called "the dead end of vaccine nationalism", adding: "No-one is safe
until the whole world is safe."
He said he was confident the UK would receive enough doses to meet its targets
- a first dose to 15 million of the most vulnerable by mid-February and to of
fer all adults their first dose by autumn.
The EU has already faced criticism for the slow rollout of vaccines, which it
buys on behalf of all member states.
這爭論可能影響供給給英國的Pfizer疫苗。回應歐盟的聲明，英國疫苗研發部長Nadhim Z
ahawi則表示，供給十分有限，並警告其所聲稱的「疫苗國家主義的盡頭」，並同時表示

歐盟已經因為疫苗的緩慢上市而遭受批評，因其代表歐盟全體成員國購買疫苗。


心得：有興趣的自己再往下看，寫的蠻詳細的，大致上說歐盟已經在去年8月和AstraZene
ca簽署總量3億劑的協議，並附加1億劑的選擇權。同時歐盟希望在它一批準疫苗使用時，
即可在三月前開始配送約8千萬劑到歐盟各國；然而Reuters報導指出AstraZeneca在第一
季大約只能交出3千萬劑，減少約6成，雖然官方還未證實。

同時歐盟也下訂6億劑的Pfizer，而已經開始施打，預期在今年8月以前完成全歐盟70%成
人的接種

看完只想說...我們真的能在年中以前優先買到疫苗給醫護人員施打，讓他們可以安心面
對疫情嗎...？又或者該讓國產的高端和聯亞加速一下，好讓醫護人員能夠安心替我們守
護家園。
