Initial unemployment claims +20k to 287k in the Dec 26 holiday week,
well above expectations for a 271k level and the highest since
the July 4 wk. The Labor Department said there were no special factors
in this week's claims, though volatility around the holidays is common.
The four-week moving average +4,500 to 277,000, highest since the
July 18 week.
Continuing claims +3k to 2.198 mln in Dec 19 week.
