個體經濟學"效用"疑問 - 經濟

各位版友先進好，
小弟讀H.Varian的Intermediate Microeconomics with Calculas(個體經濟學:
現代觀點)的第四章:效用 的附錄時，發現到這一句話:
"這使我們得到一個識別由不同效用函數表示的偏好的有用辦法:
已知兩個效用函數，只要計算一下邊際替代率，看看他們是否相同。
如果他們相同，那麼這兩個效用函數就具有相同的無差異曲線。"
原文是:
"given two utility functions, just compute the marginal
rates of substitution and see if they are the same. If they are, then the two
utility functions have the same indifference curves."
請問各位，我可以理解相同的邊際替代率可以代表相同的(甚至是經過單調變換的)
效用函數，但我百思不得其解，為何相同的邊際替代率會表示兩效用函數具有相同
的無異曲線???
請解釋一下這段課文要表示的意思，謝謝!
