三星將自發光QLED壽命提升至100萬小時:未來或完全取代OLED
儘管將旗艦電視包裝為量子點QLED,可嚴格來說,底子是加了QD背光膜的液晶電視,並非
真正的自發光量子點二極管(QLED)。
不過,《自然》刊登的研究顯示,三星院士Eunjoo Jang博士和組首席研究員Yu-Ho Won博
士取得突破性成果,將磷化銦為光源材料的量子點發光二極管的壽命、效率推高到可商用
的程度。
研究主要降低了中心能量的逃逸同時加快了電流吸收,效率提高了21.4%,二極管壽命更
是達到100萬小時。
此前,阻礙自發光QLED顯示技術的主要障礙是如何替代掉鎘,鎘雖然是完美的無機光源材
料,可對人類的毒性大,替代材料磷化銦的問題在於能量效率一直提不上來。
當然,自發光QLED要想走入大規模量產的電視和顯示器,還有不少挑戰要克服。
另外,三星將從2021年開始加大QD面板投資,先為OLED加QD背光膜。若QLED最終成熟,不
燒屏的特點也許會讓它完全取代OLED。
