【問題】「轉帳」和「匯款」的不同？ - 銀行

我有朋友去第一銀行，他要轉帳到其它家，
結果行員給他的是二聯式存款單，
我朋友就說他是要轉帳到其它家「銀行」。
結果第一銀的行員就不客氣地指正說
「那你應該說你要「匯款」到其它家銀行才對。
如果你說『轉帳』，是指轉到第一銀行的其它家分行，
但還是第一銀行。要說『匯款』才是轉到其它家銀行。」
我聽了朋友的話之後，我覺得有點奇怪，
我在其它家銀行辦事時，都沒有聽過行員
把「匯款」和「轉帳」分開成兩個不同「定義」。
我想請教一下，像台灣銀行或是其它銀行也是這樣分嗎？
什麼轉到其它分行一定要叫作「轉帳」，而匯到「不同銀行」
就不能用「轉帳」兩個字，要用「匯款」？
我覺得很奇怪，那位第一銀行是不是國文老師？
