關於機會成本這個名詞呢
我特地去翻了一下管理會計學的課本(by Horngren)
(雖然不是經濟學課本,不過管理會計學也有touch到一部分個體經濟學啦!)

課本對機會成本的定義是
Opportunity cost is the contribution to income that is forgone or rejected by
not using a limited resource in its next-best alternative use.
既然文中的敘述是用"contribution"這字眼
因此我想機會成本應該是正的

至於Palpatine大所指 兩個都會造成損失的方案 但是又不得不選其中一個的情況
現實世界也是有不少
例如趙建銘可能就得從"交保"跟"拘留"之間選一個方案
這個情況下所發生的成本 有一個比較好的說法
叫做"攸關成本"
Relevant costs are expected future costs and relevant revenues are expected
future revenues that differ among the alternative courses of action being
considered.

不過不管是機會成本還是攸關成本 我想都只是名詞上的定義 你知道他在幹麻就好了
經濟學基本上不是拿來鑽牛角尖用的 而是在教我們如何做正確的決策
