請問bias element結構 - 專利

想問這專利書上的bias element 是什麼結構

內文擷取如下:

a lock for locking said decorative element in said position, said lock
comprising at least one cavity oriented perpendicularly to said pin, a
bias element housed within said cavity that exerts force on a stopping
element that moves into a lock position when said decorative element is
in said position.

因為看了好多次,不知道提到的bias element 到底是什麼東西
所以想請問版上各位前輩 是否可以解答。
